The Fountain of Youth

AGEING?

I am one of those people who have always kind of been at war with the ageing process. Which in itself is not a wise attitude to have :)

Consider for a moment that ageing is a disease. Remember Dr Chris Barnard and that research?

Ageing – the disease - can be viewed as the result of two key basal issues:

~inflammation over extended periods; and
~de-generation from repeated use.

Looking at the life span of the average body and the toll taken on - bone structure, joints, blood system, organs including the skin, etc Great results are obtained with quality nutrition and pure water intake. (Note to self) Regular moderate exercise and appropriate stretching can support the body tremendously and more rapidly rid it of toxins (which may cause inflammation). Extra weight places strain on both the organs and the frame.

The body requires extra protection under prolonged strenuous exercise conditions, as in the case of sports. Reducing our intake of foodstuffs with a shelf life is highly beneficial. FRESH is better and quick when it comes to fruit and vegetables (natures take-aways.)

I would say that we should NOT chastise ourselves by taking all the disciplines too seriously. However, applying good principles most of the time certainly does pay off.

At times we neglect our bodies because of ignorance or laziness. Sometimes emotional conditions exist that manifest in the physical body. It is possible that sub-consciously one may play out conditions that negate the good due to repeated, let us say ‘negative’ thinking patterns.

Ladies should be educated to prepare their bodies BEFORE pregnancy, so as to enjoy a healthy pregnancy not only giving their child a head start but also to protect their own body. No point in waiting until after conception for mom and dad to stop smoking and alchol intake because then the DNA of your baby is already in place.

I have practical knowledge and tips to share that I have acquired along my own journey. Contact me via: lucilleworth@gmail.com

Another great tip – use 100% silk pillow cases – beside the luxury this is beneficial for facial skin. (So the beauty sleep leaves less of a mark ;)

Probably the best tip of all is keeping one’s spirits high (mind the liver) by remaining upbeat, almost a childlike exuberance and in enjoying the PRESENT.

What will matter.......

WHAT WILL MATTER?

by Michael Josephson

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won’t matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched,
empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memories of those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.
